I have spent my career helping students of all ages develop their abilities and discover their confidence as learners.

As a former teacher and administrator, I understand schools. As a Dyslexia Specialist working privately, I understand what my students need from their schools in order to be successful. This unique set of experiences enables me to advocate for both student and parent.

  • Michigan certified Reading Specialist, and English as a Second Language teacher - K-12

  • EBLI & Orton-Gillingham-certified with 100s of hours of instruction in a school setting and privately

  • UFLI trained

  • LETRS trained

Every student blooms at their own pace. My job is to provide the appropriate instruction for their unique needs, encouragement, and support so that growth can happen.

After 14 years as a teacher and administrator, I founded School With Steph as a way to support students during the pandemic, as well as to provide support for working parents who were struggling to work from home while their children attended school virtually. My time spent with School With Steph students in the pandemic pod reminded me why I became a teacher in the first place - to serve kids and their families.

Check out Crisis Breeds Innovation, a project about pandemic pods in which School With Steph is featured.

Today, School With Steph serves students and their families in the Macomb County area.
